I took the one and only Grandmaster Decaf (Dane) out for some crappie fishing while he was here in town briefly and while the crappie fishing was decent we managed to get a minnow inhaled by this monster. It was big and I was amazed we landed it on crappie gear next to a huge tree without getting it wrapped up. Luckily we had run out of little gold minnow hooks and I happened to be using a stout small circle hook on this rod. We only managed to land 8 keeper crappie but we caught a lot of dinks and kept us busy catching fish. All in all a decent trip, and for Dane a decent way to fish for the first time in 10 years. We had fun and got pictures of something decent to show off so it all worked out. The cat was released and sent on his way.
